Those are demonstrative adjectives and demonstrative pronouns. If it's a pronuon it has to have a tilde. If it's an adjective, it doesn't. As an adjective, you have to conjugate it with the noun provided. Observe if this is a singular/plural, feminine/masculine noun. In this example, "libro"="book" is a masculine singular noun. First, you have an adjective: "aquel libro", then you have to write a pronoun (because the noun is omitted). You need a singular/masculine demonstrative pronoun. "Esta, esta, esa" are feminine things. Then you have your answer.
