OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are there any values of x for which the expression is not defined under the set of real numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/ √x+2

OpenStudy (steve816):

Square root of a negative number is undefined.

OpenStudy (steve816):

Square root of negative number are not real numbers.

OpenStudy (steve816):

\[x+2<0\] \[x <-2\] Any value that is less than -2 will not be defined under the set of real numbers.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

x+2<=0 (cannot divide by 0)

OpenStudy (steve816):

What are you talking about, that is incorrect. I know it cannot divide by 0, so it is just less than @MrNood

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I think you will find it IS correct. It asks if there are values of x for which the expression is not defined x=-2 results in an undefined expression x<=-2 is the correct range of values for which it is undefined
