well you're adding the two point amounts, the ones for red marbles and the ones for blue marbles

You could plug in some numbers to see if your answer makes sense :) Let's say he collected `2 red marbles` and `2 blue marbles`. Hmm red marbles are 4 points each, so that's 8 points for the red. Blue marbles are 3 points each, so that's 6 points for the blue. Gives us a total of 14 points. If we use your formula in D, 7(2red)(2blue)=28 Woops! Doesn't seem to work.
