Please help I'm super confused.. Two force vectors, F1 = (-3.0 N) x-hat + (-2.5 N) y-hat and F2 = (-6.0 N) x-hat + (3.5 N) y-hat are applied to a particle. What third force F3 would make the net force on the particle zero?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

\(\mathbf F_1 = <-3.0, \, -2.5 >\) \(\mathbf F_2 = <-6.0, \, 3.5 >\) \(\mathbf F_1 + \mathbf F_2 + \mathbf F_3 = 0\) so \(-3 + (-6) + ??? = 0\) and \(-2.5 + 3.5 + ??? = 0\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so <9, -1> ?

looks good
