In a mock Battle during an exercise, a tank fires a dummy round that strikes a second tank. The first tank is travelling directly towards the second tank at a speed of 15 m/s. The second Tank is moving away from the first tank, along the same direction, at a steady speed of 35.0 m/s The shell is fired with a velocity of 250 m/s directed at 10 degrees above horizontal. All velocities are given relative to the ground. A) What is the distance between the tanks when the shot is fired? What is the distance when the shell strikes the retreating tank? The shot lands at the same height it was fired.
