The overall process involves making conjectures (hypotheses), deriving predictions from them as logical consequences, and then carrying out experiments based on those predictions to determine whether the original conjecture was correct - Wikipedia Let's use an example for real life. Let's say that your a retailer. You want to sell jackets. You notice that all the red colored jackets sell out within the first four days, but there are still plenty of the other color jackets left. You build a hypotheses that red jackets are more popular than the one of other colors. You predict that time you sell red jackets you will get the same result. You then put your hypotheses to the test. You put more red jackets for sell proving your self, your theory correct.
