Why have there been few opportunities to study the arctic wolf?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well there many reasons. One being one of them is. The natural habitat of the arctic wolf is inhospitable and dangerous, making it difficult for scientists to study the species. Additionally there have been few opportunities to study the arctic wolf in part because it is an endangered species.

It's probably because of the conditions of where they live. I mean it's freezing temperatures, which would make it difficult for scientists to carefully study them. It's difficult to watch one alone just because of the fact that their pelt might hide them. Then again, though, that could sometimes help because the arctic wolf might just stare at you. But the environment is definitely a factor because at such harsh temperatures, you wouldn't physically be able to handle studying a wolf like that
