A math professor notices that scores from a recent exam are normally distributed with a mean of 60 and a standard deviation of 5. Answer the following questions using integer values. Suppose the professor decides to grade on a curve. If the professor wants 0.15% of the students to get an A, what is the minimum score for an A?

OpenStudy (phi):

0.15 % (that is very few, are you sure it's not 15% ??) but assuming 0.15% that is 0.0015 you want the area under the curve to be 1-0.0015 = 0.9985 how many std dev's do you have to be above the mean to get 0.9985 of the area? any idea ?
