@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

do you see the red curve and the blue line ?

OpenStudy (phi):

In part a) they are asking "If you slide the blue line up 3 "blocks" , how many places will the blue line cross the red curve ?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, my connection went away

OpenStudy (phi):

In part b), they are asking "If you slide the blue line down 5 steps, how many places will it cross the red curve ?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2?

OpenStudy (phi):

for part a), yes 2 if you put your pencil on the blue line and shifted the pencil up, you can see it crosses the red curve in to places.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I see it. For part b would it be 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would the number of solutions for part a be 2?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes part a) there are 2 solutions for part b) if you slide the blue line down 5 steps, you think it crosses the red curve 4 times?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, it would cross it once

OpenStudy (anonymous):
