Absolute Value Question
Which equation has the solution -4/3 as its only solution A. |2x - 1| = |4x+9| B. |2x-1| = 1/3|6x + 19| C. |2x-1| = -4/3 D. None of These I chose the answer B, if this is correct please just confirm it with me if not then you can take me through the steps and all.
What steps did you execute to come up with B as a possible result?
I just worked out each equation and tested all its solutions.
Yes, but we can't assume that -4/3 is the only solution for each choice. . If you do that then You won't know which choices have more than one solution.
I mean, I worked out each equation and got the answers and tested each solution for each answer to see if it was true.
Here is some insight into how you can approach these.
So we know the first option has two solutions .
This is just for homework not even a grade, I just need to confirm my answer so I know i'm doing it right, I know how to solve these. Please, did I get it right or wrong? You really aren't helping right now -.-
I shared with you a proper approach for figuring at Which result has-4/3 as the only solution. I consider that helping
Nevermind I figured it out myself, thanks anyways..
