Do the inside function first. What do you get when you plug in 1 for x in g(x)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah. Now do the outside function. Plug in -1 for x in f(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As you have it typed, that's right, but I assume the 2 is supposed to be an exponent. \(x^2=x*x\) Use the ^ symbol in the future \[f(-1)=(-1)^2+3(-1)+6\] \[=(-1)(-1)+3(-1)+6\]

What's confusing you? the only thing you did wrong was the arithmetic when you plugged in. I put up a correction above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put what I typed above into a calculator
