This is a part of refraction of light; does this statement not contridict it's self? As the speed of light is reduced in the slower medium, the wavelength is shortened proportionately. The frequency is unchanged; it is a characteristic of the source of the light and unaffected by medium changes.

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

how does it contradict itself?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says the wave length is shortened (which i thin means higher frequency) and then it says that the frequency is unchanged

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

no \[v = f \; \lambda\] both v and \(\lambda\) decrease, f stays constant

Ohhhh! sorry i am still at 10th grade level. Thank you.
