A local theater sold 624 tickets for a recent performance. If the tickets were $3.00 each, how much money did it collect? Shelia said $208. Is Shelia's answer reasonable? A. Yes, because 600 ÷ 3 = 200, and 624 tickets were sold, so the answer will be a little more than this estimate. B. Yes, because 630 ÷ 3 = 210, and 624 tickets were sold, so the answer will be a little less than this estimate. C. No, because 600 • 3 = 1800, and 624 tickets were sold, so the answer will be a little less than this estimate. D. No, because 600 • 3 = 1800, and 624

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so what do you think the answer is? @Deadpooljr.

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

it is not a or b

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

and it would not be less sooo

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

it would be ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am think it is....

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

If each ticket is $3 and 624 were sold you would multiply to get your answer of 1,872

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

lets use process of elimination which is greater 600 or 624

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

if you were to round 624 to 600 it would be 3x600= 1,800

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

obviously 624 but one of them says 600 is greater it is either c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to divide to get your answer and I think it is B

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

you would be losing money then

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Is there only one answer to this question ?

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

yeah but one has one big difference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never mind your right @Baconfuntimes and yes @texaschic101 it is a 1answer problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is c

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

whats the rest of D say ? I can't see it all ?

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

yeah it is d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@texaschic101

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

because 624>600

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, because 600 • 3 = 1800, and 624 tickets were sold, so the answer will be a little more than this estimate.here the full answer

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

its has to be D.......the rest do not work...sorry about before, I read the question wrong

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

and according to c 600>624

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob thank you @Baconfuntimes and @texaschic101

OpenStudy (baconfuntimes):

yup its d

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

anytime :)

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

It is D A and B divide which would show you how many people bought tickets which is not what you want and C is wrong as well because it is saying the 600 is greater than 624
