The inequality 10.45b + 56.50 < 292.67 is used to find the number of boxes (b) that can be loaded on a truck without exceeding the weight limit of the truck. The solution is written as {b | b < 22.6}. Which statement best describes the meaning of the solution? The truck can hold more than 22 boxes. The truck can hold more than 23 boxes. The truck can hold up to 22 boxes. The truck can hold up to 23 boxes.

OpenStudy (danjs):

I think they want you to use the number of boxes as whole numbers, they are always full, counting numbers... so although b < 22.6 , you can take off the decimal

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

true...because .6 does not make up a whole box

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So which is it? lol

OpenStudy (danjs):

b can be 0 to 22

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well....if b < 22.6......that means it can hold up to 22 boxes, but no more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol that was wrong.
