I am currently preparing for the IGCSE English Exams for 2016. In my opinion my teacher marked my essay wrong, she cut down much marks because I didn't ''understood the topic' properly. Maybe. Here was the question : "Write about an occasion when a group of neighbors turned against a local official". I thought of occasion as a particular time, and wrote about a fictionalized version of War of Independence 1857 in which a group of neighbors over threw a monarch. But the teacher says the "occasion" refereed to any wedding, or function of sorts. Who is right ?
an occasion is an event or time. if she was looking for a specific type of occasion, then she should have been more specific. neither of you are technically wrong
Thanks for the answer. :) . I just expected that kind of reply in my own mind. :P
