I think both of these pictures are very well taken. My favorite is the first one because of the simplicity yet deepness of it. The second one is also good but with the shelf in it and the not straightness of it and the angle being a little to high it puts it in second place in my opinion. Once again though these pictures are both very good. Tell your sister good job. :)

I had the impression that the first one was a night photo because of the green sky (aurora borealis?). However, the tree's shadow made me rethink that it's a daylight scene edited to enhance the image of the subject, resulting in brown grass and green sky...but nice pink cheeks! Well done!
