Finding the average speed over time intervals.
I need help knowing how to get the average speed equation from the information given. I know: Average speed = dist traveled/time traveled.
@peachpi :)
@Loser66
yeah so that is what you have to compute for each one you are going to need some technological assistance, like a calculator first off, what do you get when x = 1? you are going to use that number for each one, so lets get that first
how do I find that out?
replace x by 1
you mean t?
x, t whatever
xD it equals 57.17
ok so now the first one will be \[\frac{58\times 2-.83\times 2^2-57.17}{2-1}\]
55.51 ?
lets use this
yeah you got it, but i wrote it in kind of a silly way in wolfram so now you can use that for all of them replace the 2 by various different values for t
Yay! so the values of t are the second number in the interval things given?
[1,1.5] [p, t] like that?
here is the same thing, only i replaced all the "2" by "1.5" http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%2858*1.5-.83*1.5^2-57.17%29%2F%281.5-1%29
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%2858*1.5-.83*1.5%5E2-57.17%29%2F%281.5-1%29 like so?
lol yeah looks exactly like what i wrote
hahah perfect, ok. Sorry, I think we posted at the same time xD
now you can use it as a template for all the rest
yeah you got it right on the first try aint technology wonderful?
Dude, no joke. So for part b of the problem?
Nevermind, I got it :)
