OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

HOW DO YOU FIND THE DOMAIN OF A FUNCTION THAT HAS A FRACTION INSIDE A SQUARE ROOT?

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

\[f(x)=\sqrt{\frac{ x }{ x^2-2x-35 }}\]

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

(x-7)(x+5)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

make sure the denominator is not equal to zero AND make sure the expression under the radical is positive

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

the whole thing has to be greater or equal to zero right?

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

ok...

OpenStudy (misty1212):

yes, and also exclude 7 and -5 because you cannot divide by zero

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

Oh so it's [0, -5) U (7, infinity} :D

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):
