Similarities: -Both the American and French revolutions were caused by dire economic conditions. -Both revolutions drew large attention and support to their causes. -Similar political documents were formed by both revolutions. Differences: -The French fought for "liberty, equality, and fraternity", of who should rule them while the Americans only wished to be allowed to rule themselves. -France's lower class were the ones who particularly drove the revolution due to low standards of treatment while the majority of America fought because they found Britain's ruling seeming unfair and restrictive. -The French decided that anyone who supported the King should die at their hands for their ignorance and arrogance while Americans were less violent and never murdered supporters of British rule.
