When wood burns it is what kind of change? Physical Chemical

OpenStudy (denonakavro):

Chemical when wood burns

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Welcome to OpenStudy! This question would better fit in the chemistry section. Physical changes are changes that can be reverted, such as water freezing. Chemical changes are changes that cannot be reverted, such as baking a cake.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Water freezing is a change of state; the water does not change its chemical composition. Wood burning is a chemical change; new compounds are formed and old ones destroyed. It is NOT necessarily the case that chemical changes cannot be reverted.
