1. Anna put some 2-inch apple slices in a food dehydrator, and she checked on them the next morning. Though they were the same shape as the night before, the apple slices now measured only an inch each. What happened to the apples? They lost their moisture and shrunk. Nothing happened to them--a change in size doesn't mean anything. Someone ate half of each slice when Anna was sleeping. They gained moisture and got bigger.
