k thanks
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
so we can make a proportion with this:
\[\frac{ 1 inch }{ 40 feet } = \frac{ 6inches }{ x } \implies 40(6) = x \implies 240ft\]
\[\frac{ 1inch }{ 40feet }=\frac{ 4inches }{ x } \implies 40(4) = x \implies 160ft\]
now find the area: \[Area = length \times width\]
\[Area = 240ft \times 160ft \]
oregonduck (oregonduck):
so the area is 38,440?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no close
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
yes but remember the square feet
\[38,440ft^2\]
