What is the equation of a horizontal line passing through the point (−7, 5)?

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1443657286442:dw|red line is horizontal it's not moving up or down slope = rise over run horizontal line when y value is constant and x values r changing

Nnesha (nnesha):

do you know the formula to find slope ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[\huge\rm \frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2 -x_1 }\] change in y's over change in x's

Nnesha (nnesha):

you need two x's and y's value to find slope so when line is horizontal y values would be the same for y_2 y_1 so when we subtract same number what would we get ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

here is an example |dw:1443657629609:dw| when x=1 y=3 , x=2 y=3
