Are the descriptions of temperature like; 'Hot' 'Cold' and 'Warm' all relative like the descriptions of size; 'Big' 'Small' etc?
yes they are relative terms :) for example- we take liquid nitrogen and ice we knw both are cool but liquid nitrogen is way more cooler cause it has very low temperature so we can say that ice is hotter :)
But 'coldness' had a limit to how cold it can get, 'smallness' doesn't have a limit to how small it can get.
haha :D lemme think some more :)
so relatively, all temperatures can be considered warmer than something but they cannot be considered colder
but hey we don't say anything hot or cold according to some rule rather we say an object hot when we feel it warmth on touching it an object can only be hot to us if it has temperature greater than us so its relative we jst anything is hot or cold according to what we feel
so it is relative but not in the exact same way as size...
no wait!
ok :)
Size has no constant reference point unlike tempreture
haha
can u gimme an example of what u call big anf what u call small :)
*and
elephant and ant respectively :P
if u were a whale then will u call the elephant big or small :)
small
I am not seeing your point, you seem to be saying that they can both be compared within each other but that doesn't show how temperature can be relative.
yea like if they were not relative then there must be some certain height or temperature above which or below which w wuld call something hot/big or small/cold but is there anything like that the answer is no another such relative term is time :)
