so the midpoint we need to think averages the average of two numbers is the sum of those numbers divided by 2 the x coordinate of the midpoint is equal to the sum of the x-coordinates of the endpoint divided by 2 the y coordinate of the midpoint is equal to the sum of the y-coordinates of the endpoint divided by 2

V is a point in the form (x,y)
the x-coordinate of V is x the y-coordinate of V is y since I chose V to be the point (x,y)

I'm sorry I thought I did... Can you tell me what you don't understand? Like the division? To find the average of two numbers... You do the sum of those numbers and then you divide 2.

I did then divided them

it would just be x over 2 ....
you do understand we had 5=(3+x)/2 then I asked you to multiply 2 on both sides giving us 10=3+x the last step to find the x-coordinate of v is to subtract 3 on both sides 10-3=x why are you doing something different from what I suggest?
now try solving for y coordinate of V -11=(5+y)/2
it is the same kind of steps we went through to solve for x
