Thanks to anyone who answers this ill become a fan and give you a medal:P Annabelle and Navene are multiplying (4275)(4372). Annabelle's Work Navene's Work (4275)(4372) = 42 + 375 + 2 = 4577 (4275)(4372) = 42⋅375⋅2 = 46710 Is either of them correct? Explain your reasoning.

OpenStudy (defiance):

No. The first one is adding. The other ones is splitting the numbers up incorrectly.

OpenStudy (carlyleukhardt):

No they are suppost to multiply 4,275 (four thousand two hundred and seventy five) by 4,372 (four thousand three hundred and seventy two) Anabelle split the whole number 4,275 and added them together. This is obviously wrong. Navene split the whole number and then multiplied them. This is also wrong the correct answer would be = 18,690,300
