What effect will a translation 3 units down and 2 units left have on the polygon? Be sure to address how it could impact the angles, side lengths, and congruency between the original pre-image and the image.

Do you know how to translate the image?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its a link. i can just click on it and it opens

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Right, but do you know how translate works?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes lol

OpenStudy (compassionate):

If you translate it down, and to the left, what changes, other than your (x, y) coordinates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait. im sorry my picture is different just give me one sec. thats a copy and pasted link.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Compassionate i got it. theres only 2 more units down.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

If you move an image down and to the left, is crosses the what axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the Y axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right?

@Destinyyyy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@HelloKitty17 Can you help?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

translation does not distort the image at all - it just moves it all angles & lengths remain the same so the translated shape is congruent with the original
