Have you solved -7x-11<-109?
no i need help.
your objective is to isolate x. Try first isolating the -7x by adding 11 on both sides.
what do you get after doing that?
0?
xD i dont know ho to this this is a pr test
pre*
isn't a pretest testing to see where your knowledge is already at? also what happen to your inequality when you added 11 on both sides? It is like you dropped the whole thing or something... you had -7x-11<-109 and somehow you made all of it disappear? Adding 11 on both sides looks like this: -7x-11+11<-109+11 we did this to get -7x by itself this works because -11+11 is 0 so you have -7x+0<-109+11 or since adding anything to zero is still that anything you have -7x<-109+11
yes thats a pretest but i dont know this stuff
i knew it was 0 so it stays the same?
I say try your best on the pretest then. I'm guessing since it is a pretest it is to see where the class is so the teacher knows where to begin, right?
If you don't know this, wouldn't you want your teacher to teach it?
yes -11+11 is zero but it doesn't make the inequality disappear you still have to add 11 to the other side as I did above
can you try simplifying the right hand side of the inequality
can you layout the problem?
so you can't do the -109+11?
i honestly dont know this stuff im trying my best to learn
-109+11 is the same as -(109-11) do you know how to take away 11 from 109?
yes
98
yes so -109+11 is -98
you there bud?
me?
sorry i didnt see you typing
\[-7x<-98\] I will leave the rest to you because this is a test. But I will give a 2 hints: To undo the multiplication think division. Also multiplying or dividing both sides by a negative number of an inequality will change the direction of the inequality.
its A
yes you divide both sides by -7 but -7 is negative so you have > instead of < so we have x>-98/-7=14 x>14 which means you want everything bigger than 14
ik it
so i got it right it was A?
