OpenStudy (janu16):

What statement describes the translation of y = −5(x+ 2)^2 − 3 from standard position?

OpenStudy (janu16):

@amistre64 help please

OpenStudy (deadly_roses):

y=-5(x+2)^2-3, then the correct answer would be left and down.

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

@Deadly_Roses Please try not to give answers. show your work. giving the answer doesn't help the person who asks the question.

OpenStudy (janu16):

Well can you help pllz

OpenStudy (janu16):

@AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

ok. so look. in this form of equation y=a*(x-h)^2+b if h>0 then the graph moves right. if h<0 then the graph moves left if b>0 then the graph moves up if b<0 then graph moves down.

OpenStudy (janu16):

okk..

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

so wha do you think now the answer is?

OpenStudy (janu16):

moved down to left? not sure
