OpenStudy (babybritt002):

Need in Factor method

zepdrix (zepdrix):

We're starting with this:\[\large\rm \color{orangered}{1000mL}\] Let's first go from milliliters to liters! :) \[\large\rm \frac{1L}{1000mL}\]One liter is 1000mL. We'll multiply to apply conversion,\[\large\rm \color{orangered}{1000mL}\cdot\frac{1L}{1000mL}\]Do you understand how the units will cancel out?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

This only gets us half way though. We would then go from Liters to kiloLiters :)

OpenStudy (babybritt002):

sorry it was a typo i meant 1,000mL = __L

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Oh lol, that makes things easier I suppose :3

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Recall that you can rewrite any quantity over 1. Anything divided by 1 is itself. \[\large\rm \frac{\color{orangered}{1000mL}}{1}\]The reason we do this is, when we go to the next step, with the multiplication, it makes it easier to cross cancel units.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Oh, hmm.. I'm not familiar with that method :(

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

same idea as what zepdrix was saying, just a different way to write it
