“The Cask of Amontillado” “The Story of an Hour” “The Open Boat” “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” “Roman Fever” “Hills Like White Elephants” “Sonny’s Blues” “Love Medicine” “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” “A Rose for Emily” “The Birth-Mark”

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Which short story should I go with and what lesson from that story?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

I was thinking of going with The story of an hour and you need to live your own life as the lesson.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Or that marriage is a complicated relationship..

OpenStudy (theloshua):

I would also go with the story of an hour, because in this story she realizes how much she actually dislikes living with her husband who is like a tyrant to her, how free she feels now that he is "dead". There is a lot of confusion and realization of how Ms. Mallard truly feels about her whole life. So yeah, its a perfect example :)

@Directrix

OpenStudy (theloshua):

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

OpenStudy (theloshua):
