Which word is most closely related to the words Earth's interior? A.solid B.liquid C.gas D.liquid-like

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Earth's interior includes the asthenosphere, outer core, and inner core. Asthenosphere consist of molten rocks that flow which would be a liquid Its outer core is also liquid but its inner core is solid consisting of nickel and iron. Since most of most of the layers have very hot dense liquid in them, it would have to be liquid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Liquid-like mean solid but can move, like plastic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, I would say liquid like too since molten materials can contain solid but moves in a liquid behavior.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one would you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would actually say liquid like since it is not entirely liquid and that solid flows in liquid (melt)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't decide between liquid like and solid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Earth interior is not solid at all. You do know that earth interior is what makes the magmas in the volcanoes right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i do. So you think it is liquid like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I was thinking earth if earth interior is liquid or liquid like, but I came up with liquid like.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Was it correct or you dont know yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know yet but i will let you know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Good luck on the rest.

I can help with more if you like.

Which list represents the correct labels of the earth's layers, from thinnest to thickest? A. mantle, oceanic crust, core, asthenosphere B. crust, outer core, mantle, inner core C. oceanic crust, continental crust, mantle, inner core D. oceanic crust, lithospheric crust, asthenosphere, core

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And this information from this thinnest to thickest: oceanic crust<continental crust<lithospheric crust.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes nice job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one was right but the second one was b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The second one should not be B 0.0 Here is what I gathered online. The mantle is about 2,900 kilometers (1,802 miles) thick, and makes up a whopping 84% of Earth's total volume. The internal structure of Earth. The Earth's inner core is the Earth's innermost part and according to seismological studies, it is a primarily solid ball with a radius of about 1220 kilometers, or 760 miles (about 70% of the Moon's radius). Mantle is thicker than inner core.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2900>1220

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea why it is b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

At least we got the first one correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can ask your teacher. I think it is a mistake. Yep, I am more glad we got the first correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will.
