My Topic is : Why have fairy tales endured for hundreds of years and why do they continue to morph into new tellings of the same old tales?

I think fairy tales have endured for so long because they allow the reader to escape into new worlds. Not only that but they usually teach the reader valuable lessons. For example in Hansel and Gretal we learn not to trust strangers.. Even if they are really nice and live in a house made of candy! As to why they continue to morph into new tellings, I believe it is because we must modernize the tales so that they may be of more significance to the reader. Think of the new Hansel and Gretal movie and how it compares to the fairy tale.
