OpenStudy (clarence):

The integral using vertical rectangles which finds the volume obtained when the region bounded by y=x and y=x^2 is rotated about the line y=1 is?

OpenStudy (clarence):

I got pi/5 and I just wanted to double check with someone

OpenStudy (welshfella):

its been a while . ..

OpenStudy (clarence):

That's alright, I can wait :)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

No. I cant recall this stuff well enough. I looked it up on wolfram though and pi/5 is correct.

OpenStudy (clarence):

Oh okay, totally forgot to use wolfram, thanks anyway!

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yw

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Volume generated = pi * INT [(1 - x^2)^2 - ( 1 - x)^2] dx between the limits 0 and 1
