Joshua likes to read. He read 6 books when he was 6 years old. Every year he doubled the number of books he read the previous year. How many total books did he read between the ages of 6 and 10?

age 6.....he read 6 books age 7...he read 12 books age 8...he read 24 books age 9...he read 48 books age 10...he read 96 books 6 + 12 + 24 + 48 + 96 = 186 books There is probably an equation you can use for this...I just don't know it. I just went and did it this way instead.
