When we state that two triangles are congruent, we MUST state them in the correct order, that is:
If triangles ABC and DEF are congruent, 
-angle A is congruent to angle D, 
-angle B is congruent to angle E, 
-angle C is congruent to angle F.
and so are the sides.  It is much easier to see it graphically.
