who can help me with some quick questions please? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hit me.

OpenStudy (katnissstyles000):

what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on a scale drawing of 1 : 30, what do you have to do to each measurement to get the actual dmension?

OpenStudy (katnissstyles000):

um, idk. never mind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was here first O.O I CLAIM THIS QUESTION. I'm kidding of course. A second opinion is always helpful. So the question is about dimensions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please answer quicly :)

OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

I thought was going to be easy...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm rubbish with dimensions. Especially one so vague as this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please hurry ....

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

1:30 means that, to get the actual dimension, multiply each dimension on the drawing by 30

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

for example, if the measurement is 2 inches, then the actual dimension is 60 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thanks :) i have another one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the area of a diamond of 10 inches?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

10 inches what? 10 inches on each side? 10 inches across?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 inches of a circle

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

can you put up a picture or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you find the area of a circle

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

area = pi*r^2

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

is 10 the radius or the diameter??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the area of the circle that has a diamond of 10 icnhes?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

is there a picture?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

oh, do you mean "diameter", not "diamond"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no diamond

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

...eh... I got nothing then, the question is too vague

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry i meant diameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the area of the circle that has a diameter of 10 icnhes?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

ok, so r = (1/2)*diameter = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um,, idk :(

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

read the problem again. think carefully.

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

(1/2)*diameter = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

good, so r = 5 area of circle = pi*r^2 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is 5 the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is pi?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

78.5?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

pi is approximately 3.14

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

yes, the area of the circle is about 78.5, or 25pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks :)
