Are autotrophs only plants, or can it be fruits and vegetables as well, such as apples, tomatoes, and potatoes?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Fruit trees and vegetables are plants so they are autotrophs, but fruits are a form of energy storage and have a reproductive impact, since they contain seeds (and animals eat them and defecate them elsewhere) they are tools to maintain and spread the plant species. however fruits do not contain organelles necessary for photosynthesis, some veggies, like lettuce, do.
