The figure below shows a triangle with vertices A and B on a circle and vertex C outside it. Side AC is tangent to the circle. Side BC is a secant intersecting the circle at point X: What is the measure of angle ACB?

OpenStudy (shesolitt):

OpenStudy (shesolitt):

A. 32 B.60 C.28 D.16

OpenStudy (shesolitt):

I know its not 28 i did it and i got it wrong.

@GirlgoyleH. @freegirl11112 @Kate_J2002 @adilalvi @Loser66 @Wendysbro @sleepyhead314 PLEASE HELPP

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

what are we looking for?

OpenStudy (shesolitt):

what is the measure of acb @sleepyhead314

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

that link should cover all the rules we need

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

so using this... the arc XA would be 56 * 2

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

and then angle C would be... <ACB = (1/2)(176 - 112)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Simplifying that ^^ should get you to the right answer :)

OpenStudy (shesolitt):

so the answer would be 32 right?

OpenStudy (shesolitt):

@sleepyhead314 thank you so much!!!

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

32 would be correct :)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

you might want to familiarize yourself with the rules listed in the link I gave that should help you with your future questions ^_^
