write each union as a single interval: [-8,-3) U [-6,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the [ and ) means? if you know what is mean, you should be able to write it out!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ik the bracket menas that it is included and the parentheesis means it isnt included

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay :v you got it but ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to draw it out or??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just need the interval numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can draw it out though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x is greater than -3 but smaller than -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-3 \le x \le -1\] you know that the smaller the negative number, the larger it is so don't mind about -8 and-6 cuz it go infinity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i disregard the 8? even though it is included

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-8 ***

OpenStudy (anonymous):

show me your work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got [-8,-1). I dont know how to show my work here...but basically i plotted the numbers in a number line and then shaded the numbers included and then i came up with that answer

OpenStudy (ytrewqmiswi):

|dw:1444111382580:dw| so taking all the numbers that we have we get this set->[-8,-1)
