OpenStudy (pinklion23):

What is the x-intercept of the line with the equation

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

\[8x-\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }y=16\]

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

@Jhannybean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

substitute 0 for y first.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

x intercept can be found by subbing in 0 for y

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

so i knoew how to do the problem it is just there is a fraction in the way

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Don't worry about it.

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

oh right it is 0 ok so then i do.... hold on ......*thinking*

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

0 * (stuff ) = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8x =16\] divide both sides by 8 and you are done!

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

right so then you get8x/8=x and 16/8=2 so then x=2 then i get 2,0 for the plot on the graph right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

thx

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

yes...(2,0) is your x int

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

i need more help though

OpenStudy (texaschic101):
