What is the inverse of the equation y = 5x + 1?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Hello @naomyvazquez and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) Sorry for answering a little late to find the inverse of an equation, you would switch the "x" and the "y" then try to get the new "y" by itself. so in this case, the inverse would be: x = 5y + 1 and now we have to get y by itself to make it look right :) you can do that by subtracting 1 from both sides then dividing both sides by 5 I hope this helped a little, if you still need help when you come back feel free to tag me with @sleepyhead314
