The boat's crew consisted of nine able-bodied sailors. Which word in the sentence is a collective noun? A: boat's B: nine C: crew D: sailors I think it may either be crew or sailors, but I don't know which one. Could someone please help and explain to me why?? Thank you!

It is crew. A collective noun describes or show a group of individuals. EX: The sailor is part of the CREW. Crew describes all of them while sailor only shows what they are.
