It seems to me that they just want you to create your own function that is linear and intersects the parabola at two points.

Think of any linear function. y=x, or y=x+6, or y=6x+4. Any of them. Then graph them and see where they intersect the graph. If they don't intersect the parabola, then think of another function and graph it again until you find one that intersects at two points. After that construct a table that contains points from your function that you chose and include the points that intersect the parabola.
