OpenStudy (anonymous):

The limbs of the turtle and alligator are similar in nature. They evolved from the ancient lobe-finned fish. Which system would group living organisms in the given manner?

OpenStudy (chealyn98):

It's Phylogeny

OpenStudy (koikkara):

@Chealyn98 "phylogeny" isn't a taxonomic system. It refers to the evolutionary history of a given organism. Phylogenetic systematics, only considers phylogeny. If you are grouping based on traits, similar in nature, or based on traits, evolved from the same ancestor,( or both) Then, both (as seems most likely), your answer would be B, because the Linnaean system considers both the phylogeny of the organisms in question and their degree of similarity. @ruthgarcia28
