A 4 unit by 8 unit shaded rectangle is a scale drawing of a rectangle whose area is 288 square feet. What is the scale factor of the drawing, as a fraction? Recall: Scale factor is the ratio of scale drawing: actual object. In this case ignore the units.

helpp plzz

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

first calculate the area of the shaded rectangle 4 units * 8 units = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32 @Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

good, now divide area of real rectangle/area of drawing = 288/32 = 9 now, since we're dealing with area, we take the square root of that to get the scale factor so the scale factor is sqrt(9) = 3

is that all its just 3 @Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):
