20 % of all of these numbers. 27.59= 15.69= 18.79= 25.63=
@kva1992
20% = 20/100 so .2 So mulitply all the numbers by .2 :)
exactly what yolo said
just make sure you round it to the nearest cent
here is a really easy method... move the decimal point 1 place to the left... that will be 10% then double the answer for 20% if you are working with money, you normally round to 2 decimal places
i dunno how to round to the nearest cent... any chance u can help me with that? @kva1992
sure so if you get 27.59 * .2 it will equal 5.518 so since 8 is above five you add one to the 51 and make it 52 which means your total is 5.52
does that make sense?
kind of.. not really.
@kva1992
where are you confused and ill try to explain it
@campbell_st when i did ur theory it just came out to 5.126
@kva1992 8 is above five you add one to the 51 and make it 52 which means your total is 5.52. how does that work..
27.59*.2 is 5.518
@kva i got that part.. but how does the 518 turn into 52. whats the logic behind it..
question 1. 10% = 2.759 so 20% = 5.518
but campbell its going by money. 5.518$ wouldnt work..
so if its money round to 2 decimal place 5.518 rounds to 5.52
so since you want to round to the nearest hundreds you would round 5.518 to 5.52 because 8 is above 5 so go to the nearest whole number
so the answer is $5.52
ok so in simple terms take away the 8. since 8 is 1 number u add 1 to 51 that makes it 52?
If you want to round a number to the nearest hundred, the round off digit is the number in the hundreds' place. Look at the number to the right of the round off digit. If that number is less than 5, don't change the round off digit. If that number is 5 or more, add one to the round off digit
hopefully that explains it lol
well the rule for rounding... since its money, 2 decimal places is look at the digit in the 3rd dcimal place... if its 0,1 , 2, 3 or 4 no change the the digit in the 2nd decimal place if its 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 the digit in the 2nd decimal place goes up 1. so you had $5.518 so look at 8, 3rd decimal place apply the 2nd part of the rule so the 1 goes up 1 to 2 so 5.518 rounds to 5.52
