Evaluate the expression for r = 2 and t = 7. 3(r2 + t) - r2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you figure that out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I used the Order of Operations to solve the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We start inside the parentheses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Order of Operations: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, Addition and Subtraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r x 2, or 2x2 is 4, the we add 4+7= 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then we multiply 11x3= 33 Now we have 33 - r2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x2=4 so now we are left with 33-4, which is 29

ok I think I get it better thank you
