a student solved an equation and found that the variable was eliminated in the process of solving the equation. how would the student know whether the equation is an identity or an equation with no solution?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

if the equation is an identity then both sides will be equal after the variable is eliminated if there is no solution then both sides will be un-equal after the variable is eliminated.

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

example: 1 = 1 is an identity 1 = 2 is no solution
