what is an example of the following: Translate, Transform, Image, Pre-Image, and Translation Rule
Would you happen to be in K12 or Connections Academy? & do you need a everyday life examples of those Geometry terms or just what the definition is and just an example of it?
@PrincessHush I'm in an online academy. I just need the definition and examples of it, I have more vocabulary words but didn't want to overwhelm people lol
To help you get started: •Preimage: the figure prior to the transformation. •Image: The figure after the transformation. http://www.mathwarehouse.com/transformations/
I am too.. I did this today actually. Transformation- A geometric figure is a change in the position, shape, or size of the figure. Preimage- In a transformation, the original figure is the preimage. Image- The resulting figure is the image. Translation- a transformation that maps all pointo f a figure the same distance in the same direction, A translation is an isometry. I am not sure if isometry and composition of transformations is one of your key words but just in case. Isometry- a transformation in which the preimage and image are congruent. Composition of transformation- a combination of two or more transformations. Examples: Transformation http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/transformations.html Preimage http://www.mathwarehouse.com/transformations/dilations/images/picture-of-dilation-in-math2.png Hope that helped a little..
